About the GRIPA Connect Web Portal

insight, direction, action, results

When it is fully implemented, GRIPA Connect will allow a physician to:

  • access patient records and results from a GRIPA-provided laptop in the examining room or from any computer with Internet access

  • review Clinical Guidelines with the patient

  • electronically order prescriptions and lab procedures

  • make notes available to a referred specialist

  • review hospital records

  • track patient compliance

  • and more . . .

What’s provided, what’s required

Patient information is accessed through this secure web portal, which is compatible with a wide range of Electronic Medical Records systems. You do NOT need an EMR to use the portal.

GRIPA will provide:

  • computer tablet you can use to access the portal—from anywhere

  • training in how to use the portal

You will have to provide:

  • a high-speed Internet connection at your office (and/or any location from which you want to access the portal)

Evolution, the web portal, and you

We recognize that some doctors will want to jump immediately into using the portal at its fullest capacity, and that others will want a slow start and easy transition. You can do either. See Easy Evolution in the right column of this page for an illustration.

Adding functionality over time

To assure a rapid start for GRIPA Connect and to smooth the transition to the connected community, we are phasing in functionality. For instance, Clinical Guidelines are available as reference during Phase 1, and are becoming available as patient-specific prompts at the point of care during Phase 2.

We will update the specifics on functionality and their availability as plans continue to develop. Check back for more information.

Easy Evolution

Some physicians / staff will want an easy transition to electronic patient records. You can evolve your use of the portal over time with steps like these:

  1. During a patient appointment, you notice a missing report. Buzz your staff and ask them to print it for you from the portal. Faster than a fax.
  2. Have your staff review patient records ahead of visits and print the reports you need to complete the chart.
  3. You’re missing a report? You pull it up on the screen, on your laptop, while you’re with the patient. No time is wasted.
  4. Use the portal to exchange secure emails with colleagues about common patients and generate referrals.
  5. Respond to Point of Care Alerts on a patient who has not met a guideline.
  6. Use Care Opportunity Reports to manage multiple patients by disease state.
  7. Enter the electronic era, with or without a full Electronic Medical Record system.
